Pastor Danny taught on one of my favorite Psalms tonight: Psalm 71. It was kind of funny because he started out by saying he was going to read from a Psalm that probably isn’t all that often read. Even though I have trouble some times, for some reason, remembering which number this one is, I seem to find my way back to it often.
The 73rd Psalm covers a lot of territory in a fairly short space. But the biggest thing in it that draws me to it is the assurance it gives of God being our Rock. Through out all the things we endure and encounter, we are never alone, never on shaky, unstable ground, and never are forgotten. I don’t know about you, but that sure gives me a lot of comfort and courage to know that the Almighty God has made those promises to me and to you.
Psalms 71:5 For thou [art] my hope, O Lord GOD: [thou art] my trust from my youth.
